Second Annual Heroes of Midlothian
Benefit 5K Run, Community Festival, and Free Concert

Saturday, May 17, 2014
8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
MISD Multipurpose Stadium

Last year's event had over 500 participants of all ages running, jogging, or walking; over 30 food, artisan, and craft vendor booths to browse; and a musical line-up that had people asking for "More, More, More."  Join us for this year's event - which is shaping up to be bigger and better.

All proceeds from the event help support the Foundation's charitable mission.

Run Details

Registration and late-packet pick-up will begin at 7AM. Opening ceremony begins at 8AM. The 5K Run and Fun Walk will take off at 8:30AM following the opening ceremony.

Pre-registration online is strongly encouraged.  Register here.

For you competitive folks, the 5K run is chip-timed. For you non-competitive folks, don't worry, your time will be our little secret.  Running, jogging, and walking are all permitted.  We do ask that child-runners, those planning to walk, or those taking a jogging stroller start near the end of the pack.  Since timing chips are used, the big bang at the start is not as important.

The route begins at the softball complex/MISD stadium area on 14th street, and travels to the access road of the Highway 287 bypass, across Midlothian Parkway, down to Mt. Zion, crosses over Highway 287 bypass, and returns on 14th street to finish at the same place as the start.  Got lost?  Here's a map.  Oh, and there will be plenty of orange cones and direction/encouragement the day of the event, so don't worry.

Festival Details

The community festival starts right after the run, around 9AM or so, and runs until 2PM. We are lining up a great selection of food, artisan, jewelry, and info booths - so there will be plenty to visit.  Bring the family along and spend the day together enjoying the entertainment, atmosphere, and concert.

Want to help sponsor the event or host a vendor booth for your business or organization?

Concert Details

We've got another impressive line-up of local and trending musical artists, groups, and events.  The free concert runs all day, and can easily be heard while strolling the festival grounds.  But you'd probably prefer to take a seat for a little bit and listen under the canopy in the cool shade.
